Born on February 10, 1963 in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Graduated from Law Faculty of University of Mostar in 1985. Earned her LLM degree with thesis titled Princple of Party Disposition in Civil Litigation at Law Faculty of the University of Niš in 1991. Defended her doctoral dissertation titled Succession in Procedural Relations at the Law Faculty of the University of Niš in 1997.

She has worked at the Faculty of Law, University of East Sarajevo since 2000. She was elected full time professor for the scientific area of civil law in 2011. Teaches graduate courses in Civil Procedural Law and Real Property Law and postgaraduate course in Law on Judicial Organization. At the Faculty of Law, University of Banjaluka teaches graduate courses in Civil Procedural Law and postgraduate courses in Theory of Enforcement Procedure, Theory of Extrajudicial Procedural Law and Procedure for Estate Administration.

Served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Centre for Judicial and Prosecutorial Training of Republic of Srpska. She is listed as an arbitrator of the Foreign Trade Arbitration of Republic of Srpska. She held position of the president of the Committee of the Faculty of Law, University of East Sarajevo and member of the Senate of the University of East Sarajevo. She is member of Association of Legal Professionals of Republic of Srpska, Association of Legal Professionals of Serbia, Association of Legal Professionals of Montenegro and Association for Civil Procedure and Arbitraion Law of Republic of Serbia. She is on the editorial board of the Yearbook of the Faculty of Law, University of East Sarajevo She worked as trainer at the Centre for Judicial and Prosecutorial Training of Republic of Srpska and Centre for Judicial and Prosecutorial Training of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Professor Ranka Račić was member of the working group to amend the Law on Civil Proceedings, Law on Enforcement Procedure and Anti-Discrimination Law. Worked on numerous projects. In 2015 participated at the expert level in the project „Speeding Up Litigation Proceedings“, and in the same year she worked on the project Support to Implementation of Regulations concerning Competition in B&H and Further Strengthening Competition Policies as senior legal expert.

She is the author of two books, seven university textbooks and over 130 academic articles.
